November 14, 2008 | Filed Under Weddings | Leave a Comment
Robin and Bobby officially became husband and wife this evening at the Helena Wedding Chapel. The ceremony took place with their children, Hannah, Nick, and Adam participating as Maid of Honor, and Best Men.
The children told the Minister “It’s about time!” and happily chided each other before officially becoming brothers and sister. They have been waiting a long time to become a family.
Congratulations from the Minister of the Helena Wedding Chapel! Be happy you guys!

Pictures of little Halloweeners!
November 2, 2008 | Filed Under Holiday | Leave a Comment
Mark Parker of www.MarksBrides.com and Mark Parker Photography was kind enough to come to the Chapel on Halloween, turn the Chapel into a photography studio and photograph the Helena trick-or-treaters in their costumes.
A grand time was had by all. The Helena Wedding Chapel thanks everyone who participated, and we’ll plan on doing the same thing next year!
The Chapel wants to thank Mark Parker Photography for all of the wonderful photographs of the children! We think he is one of the most talented photographers around, and are grateful to have him here in Helena!

Jeff & Selina say “I Do!” at the Helena Wedding Chapel
October 26, 2008 | Filed Under Weddings | Leave a Comment
Jeff is a fireman, and Selina wore a fire engine red wedding dress just for him today. The veil she wore she made herself. She was a beautiful bride. Friends, family and children gathered today at the Helena Wedding Chapel to witness the union, and wish the couple well.
Best friend Janet did all of the decorating, and the ladies are proud to have put together such a fabulous wedding in just 2 weeks. Jeff and Selina are the first couple to perform a sand ceremony at the Helena Wedding Chapel. The sand ceremony replaces the unity candle, and is a far more meaningful service.
Congratulations from the Minister of the Helena Wedding Chapel!

Wedding day for Ray & Dayna!
October 18, 2008 | Filed Under Weddings | Leave a Comment
Ray and Dayna are new residents to Helena. They chose to wed at the Helena Wedding Chapel today. Quasi Gnome O, the Carillon bell ringer, was kind enough to pose with the couple’s wedding rings. The Carillon is still in pieces and not active yet, so Quasi Gnome O is making himself useful as the ring bearer until he can take his new post. Anything with a ‘ring’ in it, he is game for.
For those of you not familiar with Helena, we are a Gnome town. Visit No Sleep In Helena for all the updates of what is happening in Helena. The gnome hunts, etc.
Ray and Dayna’s friends did a ‘crash’ entrance, for they did not wish to miss their friend’s moment of bliss. Unfortunately, their parents were unable to attend, but we are certain they will appreciate the slideshow with all of the action packed wedding footage.
Congratulations from the minister of the Helena Wedding Chapel!

Stuart & Nicole say “I do”
October 18, 2008 | Filed Under Weddings | Leave a Comment
Stuart and Nicole exchanged vows today at the spot where they had their first date. Stuart also proposed there too. Family and friends traveled from near and far to witness the touching ceremony.
The overlook in Dadeville for the lake is a gorgeous spot. Several hikers stopped and watched the ceremony from a distance. The minister of the Helena Wedding Chapel felt especially privileged to be performing the ceremony for these two. Every now and then, you marry a couple and wish their family was yours as well.
Congratulations!

Beth & Andy make it official!
October 11, 2008 | Filed Under Previous Weddings | Leave a Comment
Beth and Andy said “I do” in front of family and friends this morning. The ceremony was held by the lake that borders the property of the Bride’s parents. Most of the happy couple’s children were present to stand as both witnesses and wedding party. They all became a new family today. Bonus brothers and sisters are a wonderful thing to be blessed with by marriage. Bonus children are an even bigger blessing.
Congratulations Beth and Andy!

Scott & Toni become husband and wife at the Helena Wedding Chapel
October 3, 2008 | Filed Under Previous Weddings | Leave a Comment
This evening, Phillip and Hannah had the most important job as ring bearers. They also witnessed as mom and dad, Scott and Toni married, and they all became a new family.
Toni wore a beautiful Jessica McClintock gown. Scott looked very handsome in his suit. They were also the FIRST couple to have a train come through in the middle of their ceremony. That is a wonderful sign of good luck. It is even better than it raining on your wedding day.
Congratulations to the four of you! Scott, Toni, Phillip, and Hannah!!

Jason & Sheena tie the knot at the Helena Wedding Chapel!
September 22, 2008 | Filed Under Previous Weddings | Leave a Comment
Old Towne Helena had a beautiful wedding today at the Helena Wedding Chapel. Jason popped the question, and Sheena said YES! Then, they drove all the way from Mississippi to get married at the chapel! Sheena was absolutely beautiful in a gorgeous gown and beautiful veil. Family of the couple travelled with them to be there to share their special moment.
Jason tells me that he met Sheena at a restaurant where she worked. She said he became a regular customer and over time, Jason managed to land the love of his life.
Congratulations from the wedding officiant of the Helena Wedding Chapel!!

Mitch & Amanda exchange vows at the Helena Wedding Chapel!
September 20, 2008 | Filed Under Previous Weddings | Leave a Comment
The bride wore white, and the groom wore green. Mitch is an active member of the United States armed forces. Amanda is a nurse. Two people who dedicate their lives to service to others and their country were wed today at the Helena Wedding Chapel.
Amanda almost didn’t make it down the aisle. When she and Mitch saw each other for the first time today as her father walked her down the aisle, the love was almost too much for her to handle. With several pauses, a few tears, and her father’s arm for support, Amanda finally made it to the altar to wed her groom. There was not a dry eye in the entire chapel today. When a couple this in love marry one another, it is felt by everyone present.
As a wedding gift from the chapel, the minister asked the Tomcats, a local, nationally recognized barbershop quartet, to sing to the bride after the ceremony. The Old Towne Helena Wedding Chapel seemed like the most appropriate place for them to be singing today. The chapel literally came alive with the sound of a traditional barbershop quartet. This was about as close to a perfect wedding that our officiant has performed to date.
The reception was held at Incahoots. A stone’s throw from the Chapel.
Congratulations you two! Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!

Samuel & Kayleen wed at 29 Dreams in Vandiver, Alabama
September 20, 2008 | Filed Under Previous Weddings | Leave a Comment
Well, this was one of the more unusual, and fun, weddings for the minister of the Helena Wedding Chapel. Samuel is an oil rig worker in the Gulf of Mexico. He helps to pump oil to fuel the United States of America. He almost didn’t make it home to marry the love of his life, Kayleen. How many people can say they lived through 3 hurricanes in the gulf, back to back, and live to tell about it? Samuel can. Needless to say, he is happy to be on stable, and dry land for the time being.
Samuel and Kayleen exchanged their vows at 29 Dreams in Vandiver, Alabama. This is a well known motorcycle resort, and quite a nice place for members of the motorcycle community to meet and pass time together. The bride wore a beautiful gown, a gorgeous tiara, and the biggest smile ever worn by a bride. Samuel wore leather, which is what he is comfortable wearing. Weddings are all about having fun, and doing what expresses who you are. These two followed no rules laid out by anyone, and had the wedding of their dreams surrounded by good friends. Everyone pitched in to help carry out the service. Unfortunately, the bride wound up with cake in her EYES, a first, but she just laughed, as she always does, for Samuel keeps the humor rolling.
Congratulations to the most unusual, and fun couple married by our minister. Be happy!
